Veganomicon contains a collection of vegan recipes, with advice on stocking the vegan pantry, equipment, and cooking techniques and options for appetizers, breakfast, salads, soups, casseroles, one-pot meals, pasta, breads, cookies, and desserts. My family’s favorite dinners include the amazing cashew ricotta in the lasagne marinara with spinach, smoky grilled tempeh, pasta della California, and snobby joes.

The book is well organized and easy to use, with ingredients conveniently listed in the order you use them. Ingredients are exotic enough to require access to a few specialty groceries or a coop, but not so insane that you can't make these recipes in a small town. Any time I talk to someone about vegan cooking, I always end up talking about this book. It is written with a breezy sense of humor that will make readers of all dietary disciplines feel right at home, yet it's not so preciously perky that you'll wanna chuck it out the window. The conversational tone is perfect for those who are exploring what veganism is all about and would maybe like to have some fun while on this tasty adventure.
