Learn how to make restaurant-style ramen that will thoroughly impress your family and friends. This graphic-novel/cookbook combo has 40 recipes that teach the reader about stocks, tares, broths, noodles, toppings, and accompaniments to make the perfect bowl. This book is perfect for beginners, seasoned cooks, and armchair foodies alike.

Let’s Make Ramen gives you the option to make advanced and elaborate ramen, or simple and easy ramen — both are far greater than the stereotypical cup-o-noodles from a grocery store. The recipes are presented visually and illustrate all the necessary steps and ingredients. The bright, colorful illustrations help any layperson understand unfamiliar ingredients such as shoyo (soy sauce), katsuobushi (fish flakes), and kombu (kelp).

I followed the illustrated directions for making a bowl of yasai miso ramen, and it turned out delicious. Making the broth yasai (vegetable broth) was very easy and just took time to prepare; once the broth was done, it was so simple to combine miso, noodles, toppings, and enjoy! The experience was so satisfying that I will not be content with instant ramen again.
