Caring Covers, Blanketing New Hampshire's Kids and Adults with Comfort, is a volunteer group that makes new handmade blankets for children and adults in need of a hug, support and comfort when times are tough. These new handmade blankets (quilted, crocheted, sewn, woven, and the like) are distributed to Hospitals, Police Departments, Fire Departments, the American Red Cross and other organizations that service children and adults who have a need for a warm, fuzzy hug. All sizes are needed but the common size is 35" x 45" or larger.
Caring Covers will happily accept donations of blankets as well as blanket-making supplies like fabric, yarn, and quilt batting. The organization is not able to accept direct monetary donations, but can accept gift cards to stores that sell blanket-making supplies like Walmart, AC Moore, and JoAnn Fabrics.
In addition to the Merrimack Public Library, blankets and donated supplies can be dropped off at these locations:
Levesque Sew & Vac, 1261 Hooksett Road, Hooksett, NH 03106
Gilbert H. Hood Middle School, 5 Hood Road, Derry, NH 03038
