Armchair Travel Series: Lithuania

This event is full.

Join Chef Oonagh Williams, a regular chef seen on WMUR Channel 9’s Cook’s Corner, for Armchair Travel to Lithuania on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 from 6.30 to 8:00 PM.

Chef Oonagh Williams gave Lithuanian cooking demos at the Chandler Library Ethnic Center in Nashua for many years.  For the month of July 2005 she attended a Lithuanian language summer course at the University of Vilnius (Capital of Lithuania).  She researched the cuisine, as well as the culture and heritage.  The classes and trip were sponsored by the Zylonis Foundation.

In Lithuania, Chef Oonagh cooked a party for the wife (a fellow student) of the acting German Ambassador.  She gave a demo to 35 American and Lithuanian teachers from APPLE at the teaching institute in Vilnius and worked in the kitchen for the day.

Join Chef Oonagh Williams for a photographic journey of her experiences in Lithuania, history of Lithuania under various rulers, post Communism, and a Lithuanian buffet.  She will bring some Lithuanian cookbooks, Lithuanian Heritage magazines and tourism books as well as a scrapbook she made after her trip, as well as a buffet of Lithuanian dishes.

Chef Oonagh has Celiac disease so the buffet is safe for those on a gluten free diet.  To read more about Chef Oonagh and her recipes visit her website http://cookingwithoonagh.wixsite.com/oonagh or Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/Gluten-Free-Cooking-With-Oonagh-137189656319493...
