Chamber of Commerce Business Book Group

The Merrimack Chamber of Commerce’s Business Engagement Committee and the Merrimack Public Library will be partnering in 2018 to offer a monthly Business Book Group.  We will read books covering a variety of topics that are of interest to business people, including leadership, finance, hiring and strategic planning.  This will also be a great opportunity to network with fellow business leaders.  The group will meet monthly on the second Tuesday from 7-8:30 pm in the Library’s Lowell Room and the first meeting will be January 9th.   The first book title will be Good to Great: Why Some Companies Make the Leap and Others Don’t by James Collins.

Making the transition from good to great doesn’t require a high-profile CEO, the latest technology, innovative change management, or even a fine-tuned business strategy. At the heart of those rare and truly great companies was a corporate culture that rigorously found and promoted disciplined people to think and act in a disciplined manner. Peppered with dozens of stories and examples, the book offers a well-reasoned road map to excellence that any organization would do well to consider. – Amazon Review
