The Library is open to the public for browsing, indoor assistance, and computer use by appointment! Although we are thrilled to have our members in the building, we will be enforcing the following "Pop In & Pick Up" procedures to safeguard the health of our community:
- The Library's operating hours have been temporarily shortened:
- Monday - Thursday 10am to 2pm & 3pm to 6:30pm
- Friday 10am to 2pm & 3pm to 4:30pm
- Saturday 9am to 12:30pm
- All visitors are asked to sanitize upon entry, wear face coverings at all times, and abide by social distancing guidelines.
- Building capacity is temporarily restricted, and visitors will be encouraged to limit the length of their visit to promote the flow of foot traffic.
- Curbside pick-up services continue, but appointments are no longer necessary! Please continue to return items to our 3 outdoor book drops.
- Computer usage and study table reservations are currently limited to 2 hours per person per day to provide equitable access to all community members. Reservations can be made in advance at the reference desk and will be held for up to 15 minutes past the scheduled time. Laptops remain available for use on the Library property.
- Meeting room usage is temporarily unavailable, and all Library programs are being conducted virtually until further notice.
- Our Wi-Fi is still on 24/7, and remote printing via Princh continues to be available.
All items will continue to be quarantined for at least 72 hours upon return, and overdue fines will continue to be waived until further notice. Thank you for your patience as we work to gradually reintroduce our services in a safe and responsible manner.

Frequently Asked Questions
What services will be available during the Library's initial reopen?
Visitors may browse our collections, check out materials, pick up holds, and book a computer for a 2-hour time period. Staff will be available at all public service desks to provide information, issue new Library cards, update account information, and provide copier assistance, notary and proctoring services, tech help, and readers' advisory.
What safety measures have been put in place?
- Face coverings are required at all times when inside the Library and all other Town buildings.
- Building capacity is currently limited. Users are encouraged to limit their visits to 2 hours so that all community members have a chance to enjoy the Library.
- Staff desks have been rearranged, and public seating has been removed.
- Hand sanitizer is being made readily available throughout the building.
- Plexiglass barriers have been installed at public service desks.
- Staff will be frequently cleaning highly touched surfaces and disinfecting computers between uses.
Can I book a meeting room or meet in the Library for a tutoring appointment?
Unfortunately, not yet. Soft seating, the Teen Area tables, and the Lowell and Klumpp Rooms will remain unavailable until further notice. The study tables located on the main floor will initially be reserved for single-person use only. All Library programs will continue to be conducted virtually until further notice.

How should I return my items?
Please continue to return items to any of the Library's 3 outdoor book drops (2 in the Library parking lot; 1 at the South Fire Station on Naticook Road). Makerspace items and Library kits should be returned inside the Library or by calling 603-424-5021 (ext 101 or 102) to schedule a contact-free return.
All returned items will continue to be quarantined for 72 hours before being checked in, and overdue fines will continue to be suspended until further notice.
Can I request items from other GMILCS libraries?
Yes! Items may still be requested from within the GMILCS consortium. Items not available from any GMILCS library can be obtained from the other libraries in NH and the US via interlibrary loan. Please note that it may take longer to obtain items from other libraries due to current quarantine protocols.
Will computers be available to use inside the Library?
Users may reserve one of the Library's computers for a 2-hour session per person per day. Those who wish to use one of the Library's computers should visit our Reference Desk or call 603-424-5021 (ext 104) to schedule a session.
Are you accepting book donations?
We are unable to accept book and media donations at this time.
Will the Library reinstate passport services?
The Library's passport services will remain unavailable until further notice. All appointments made before the start of the closure will be rescheduled once our passport facility services are reinstated.
Renewals of expired adult passports issued within the last 15 years are still being processed by mail by the Department of State, with renewal forms and instructions available here. All other passport applications must be processed by a passport agency or acceptance facility. Will public restrooms be available?
Our restrooms will be available but have be redesignated as single unisex restrooms. Please lock the door behind yourself while you are using the restroom. Additional cleaning supplies have been made available for your convenience.
How do I get Library updates?
When will more services become available?
The reintroduction of additonal services is guided by our Phased Reopening Plan and Pandemic Policy, which have been approved by the Library's Board of Trustees. We will progress to the next phase in the plan once it has been deemed safe to do so.
