Title: Youth Services Library Aide, Part Time

Duties: The Merrimack Public Library is looking for a positive team player to work in our fast-paced Youth Services Department.  The ideal candidate will have creative problem-solving abilities and can be attentive to details while exhibiting a commitment to the library's mission.  Duties include creating and leading innovative programs for children and teens; providing reader's advisory services and guidance in locating library materials; assisting patrons in the use of library computers and online services; attending outreach events.  Please refer to the full job description below.

Hours: Schedule of 20 hours/week includes day, morning, afternoon shifts; one evening each week and rotating weekends

Qualifications: Candidate must be age 18 or older. HS diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred. Competency in computer use including Microsoft Office products, Internet required; familiarity with social media preferred. Prior library experience and/or customer service experience preferred. Experience working with children and teens and/or knowledge of children's and teen literature preferred. Artistic and creative skills are also desireable. MLIS students encouraged to apply.

Salary: $12.00/hour
