Part-Time Circulation Assistant (25H) 

Description: The Merrimack Public Library is looking for a positive team player to work in our fast-paced Circulation Department. In this newly-created position, the ideal candidate will assist the Head of Circulation in the provision of Department-related tasks and will be responsible for superivising the Circulation staff and serve as a key holder when a Department Head is not on duty. This person will be flexible, have creative problem-solving skills, be attentive to details, and demonstrate a commitment to our library's mission. Duties include checking in and out library materials, processing patron reserve materials, processing financial transactions, and providing general assistance to the public both in person and over the phone and email. Hours: Schedule of 25 hours/week includes morning and afternoon shifts, one evening each week, and rotating weekends. While the library is operating under modified hours due to COVID-19, flexibility in scheduling is expected.

Qualifications:  HS diploma or equivalent required; college preferred. Requires customer service experience, experience with computers, and a general understanding of the use of technology in libraries.

Salary: $15.60/hour
